High Tide PWA Receives Four Davey Awards

High Tide PWA

DockYard recognized for best web app design, data visualization

DockYard is honored to be named a winner in the 14th Annual Davey Awards. The company received recognition for High Tide, a Progressive Web Application that provides up-to-date tide information across waterways. DockYard won two gold awards in the website and web app categories, and two silver awards in best data visualization and science for websites categories.

High Tide was designed in 2017 as a creative and elegant way to demonstrate the benefits of PWAs. The web application quickly earned recognition among web app developers, with Google featuring High Tide in a demo during its 2017 Chrome Developer Summit in San Francisco, California. Sailing enthusiasts in 2017 also named the PWA as Cruising World’s App of the Month.

The Davey Awards, announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), recognizes exemplary creative work from advertising firms, digital agencies, web developers, digital product development firms, and other consultancies worldwide. AIVA consists of more than 700 leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. The association reviewed 3,000 entries before finalizing winners.

“This season of the Daveys has once again put the outstanding work that comes from small shops across the globe on display,” said Derek Howard, Executive Director of the AIVA. “We are proud to showcase those who utilize flawless execution, groundbreaking technology, and a fresh approach to the thought process to generate amazing content.”
