This position will be a member of DockYard leadership team.
Manage the Project Management team including, but not limited to: performance management, time and attendance management, employee training and development, mentoring, and recruitment and onboarding.
Drive continuous improvement and guide Project Management team on industry standards and best practices.
Work collaboratively with both Design and Engineering team leadership with an aim to continuously improve our service offering
Direct the Project Management department including budgeting and project resource allocation, development of organizational metrics (as applicable) and reporting.
Ensure Project Management team is able to stay on target by removing obstacles to their success.
Partner with Business Development for bid proposals and client communications as needed.
Act as point person for and address any project management issues or concerns that arise.
Ability to reveal/identify potential Biz Dev opportunities to management team.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Development environment as a Sr. PM and/or Engineer.
Previous people management experience.
Strong / proven team orientation.
Proven experience/understanding of what it means to be a Servant Leader.
Experience managing projects in Client Services (Consulting) context.
Experience working in Scrum and/or other types of Agile environments.
Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience with software development and web technologies.
Ability to apply project management knowledge to real world scenarios (Pragmatic)
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Willingness to learn, grow and be flexible in small company environment.
Willingness to evangelize DockYard’s approach to Project Management via blogs, speaking opportunities, PM community outreach
Experience managing projects involving Remote teams.
Some travel is required.
